Ms. Mayra attended the 14th Annual Gulf Coast Film and Video Festival 9.16.12 in Webster, Texas and participated in a panel “Latinos in Film: Making Your Big Break Onto the Big Screen” with Actor/Model/Spokesperson/Producer Nellie Gonzalez and Director Baldemar Rodriguez of “In Search of the American Dream” (which releases in theatres in January). The panel discussed various ways each talent has been charting their career in film and avoiding stereotypes in order to represent their talent and characters well. The panel was moderated by Hector Luna, Publisher of C47Houston News and Entertainment Magazine. This panel was covered and featured in the “Galveston News”, full-page.
