Update: Mayra Leal Attends the Gulf Coast Film and Video Festival
Ms. Mayra attended the 14th Annual Gulf Coast Film and Video Festival 9.16.12 in Webster, Texas and participated in a panel “Latinos in Film: Making Your Big Break Onto the Big Screen” with Actor/Model/Spokesperson/Producer Nellie Gonzalez and Director Baldemar Rodriguez of “In Search of the American Dream” (which releases in theatres in January). The panel discussed various ways each talent has been charting their career in film and avoiding stereotypes in order to represent their talent and characters well. The panel was moderated by Hector Luna, Publisher of C47Houston News and Entertainment Magazine. This panel was covered and featured in the “Galveston News”, full-page.

Mayra Leal will appear on a panel at the 14th Annual Gulf Coast Film and Video Festival September 15, 2012 film screening at the Star Cinema Grill in Webster, Texas. She will be featured on a panel “Latinos in Film: Making Your Big Break Onto the Big Screen” with Director Baldemar Rodriguez of “In Search of the American Dream” (the film we debut at the festival 9/13), Actress, Host, and Spokesperson Nellie Gonzalez, and one other surprise guest celebrity with Hector Luna, Publisher of C47 Magazine moderating. The film festival begins September 13th thru 16th. Actor Brandon Smith of “No Country for Old Men” to attend and receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in feature film. LOS ANGELES (June 21, 2011) – Maya Entertainment has launched a unique “win a date” promotion for the psycho-sexual thriller Playing House, which will be released on DVD June 21. Fans have an opportunity to win a date with Mayra Leal (Arena, Machete, TV’s “The Deep End”), star of the film, for dinner at The Federal Bar (www.thefederalbar.com) in North Hollywood. The date will be filmed and the footage edited into short clips to use as online content for Maya Entertainment. “Playing House” Premiere at World Fest
Mayra is in Houston today (in from LA) for her movie premiere of the award-winning feature film “Playing House” from Director Tom Vaughan. She is excited to see her Houston friends tonight at the premiere at the AMC Theatres on Dunvale. The screening starts at 7PM as is being featured at the WorldFest Film Festival 2011. Admission is $10.
