Local Screen Actors Guild Movie Star Mayra Leal to be Honored Guest at Marine Ball
Attending with Marine Escort 239th Annual Marine Corps Ball Celebration in Houston

Houston, Texas (November 6, 2014) – Mayra Leal (www.MayraLealInFilm.com) is a University of Houston graduate from Houston and has over 31 movie and TV credits to her name and has appeared in “Locked Up Abroad in Bangladesh” on National Geographic, “Machete” by Director Robert Rodriguez, “Memphis Beat”, “Arena”, “Revolution”, “The Wisdom to Know the Difference” (with four best pictures awards) by Director Daniel Baldwin, and more. In the past, she has supported Toys for Tots, a Marine toy drive for kids. She currently resides in Malibu, California and has accepted this high honor request that has been approved by the local Marine community.
The Marine Corps Ball Ceremony will be held at the Houston Marriott South at Hobby Airport location on Saturday evening November 8th and at Marine duty stations and cities of record worldwide. The actual Marine Corps Birthday is celebrated on November 10th which represents the founding of the United States Marine Corps at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia by the Continental Congress, November 10th, 1775.
Mayra recently received an invitation to attend the ball with a Marine who was serving in combat, but he could not attend for personal reasons. In the spirit of brotherhood, the local Marines are providing a Marine escort to accompany Mayra who is excited about the opportunity to honor the Marines (privately).
She is thankful to local Marine Corps League and the Houston Marine Coordinating Council (who serves the youth ROTC, retired, reserve and active duty Marines).
Mayra and her escort will also attend a Sunday brunch at Brennan’s provided by Chef Walker (a former Marine) and cake cutting ceremony to honor our Marine Veterans at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center.

Mayra met-up with 2013 Grammy, multiple Dove and Stellar Award-winning music producer Billy Dorsey in Houston, Texas to discuss an opportunity to be in Billy’s next music video from his album “Marathon” for the song “Perfect Love”. Mayra, Billy, and Andy Valadez of Marketing Dynamics (not pictured) met at a local Cafe Express for lunch and had a great chat to discuss the vision and plan for the production. We’ll post more information about the plan in coming posts.

Did you know that Mayra has a degree in Advertising? Well, she does. Not only is she beautiful on camera and a great spokesperson, but she has an appreciation for what is marketable. She recently represented this company on the Mi Casa TV Network 55.4 which is based in Houston, Texas.
